30+ Weapons · 20+ Phantom Edges

Based on official data from 萌娘百科 and Steam, Phantom Blade Zero has an extensive arsenal with no quality tiers, every weapon is viable.

🗡Over 30 Main Weapons

The game has over 30 types of main weapons, including longswords, ring blades, greatswords, flexible swords, dual swords, and more. Each weapon has its own unique moveset, combo paths, and a power surge (ultimate ability). Weapons have no quality tiers, every blade is equally viable; your choice is about playstyle, not power level.

⚔ Weapon Philosophy: Every weapon has its own upgrade and evolution system, unlocking new skills and movements. Defeat powerful foes to obtain their weapons, and with it, their signature techniques.

💠20+ Phantom Edges (奇门武器)

Phantom Edges are unique secondary weapons that serve tactical purposes, each with limited ammo that refills only at checkpoints. Over 20 distinct Phantom Edges have been confirmed, including exotic Chinese weapons rarely seen in games:

  • Flaming Head (狮子头), Lion-head flamethrower for area denial
  • Tiger Cannon (虎炮), Powerful ranged cannon
  • Blood Dropper (血滴子), Classic wuxia ranged blade trap
  • Night Owl, Bow and arrow for precision ranged attacks
  • Mancutter, Giant axe for breaking guards
  • Bashpole, Sledgehammer for heavy strikes
  • Ink Cut, Round-trip returning sword

Mix and match two Phantom Edges with your two main weapons to customize your loadout. The resource is shared between both equipped edges.

Weapon Evolution & Skill Tree

Each weapon has its own upgrade and evolution system that unlocks new skills and movements. A character-wide skill tree governs Soul's overall combat progression. Certain areas of the semi-open world are only accessible after acquiring specific weapons, encouraging exploration and backtracking with new tools.

Fast, Technical, and Deep

Phantom Blade Zero's combat system blends high-speed martial arts with strategic resource management. Not a Souls-like, think character action with wuxia flair.

Combo Chain System

Flow between light and heavy attacks with smooth weapon-swap combos. The semi-auto combo system lets newcomers perform flashy sequences while veterans can cancel and frame-tighten.

💚

HP & Sha-Chi (杀气) Gauge

Both you and enemies have a health bar and a Sha-Chi (杀气/Qi) gauge. Qi governs blocking, heavy attacks, and special moves. Depleting it leaves you exposed to a broken state, use it wisely.

🔄

Dual Weapon System

Equip 2 main weapons + 2 Phantom Edges with limited ammo. Each weapon type has unique movesets and combo paths. Swap mid-combo to extend attacks for flashier, longer combos.

👻

Phantom Edges

Secondary weapons with limited ammo: bows for ranged, giant axes for breaking guards, flame-throwing lion heads for area damage. Use them tactically to turn the tide.

🔵🔴

Color-Coded Defense

Enemy attacks are color-coded: blue = parry, red = dodge. Successfully parrying or dodging triggers a Ghostep, a teleport behind the enemy for a counterattack.

🏃

Mobility & Fluidity

Wall-running, teleporting behind enemies, sudden cinematic finishers with dynamic camera angles. Combat feels like a Kung Fu movie, rapid movement, high attack frequency, smooth flow.

8 Endings · Choices Matter

Phantom Blade Zero has a branching narrative where side quests directly influence the main story's finale.

🔄Multi-Ending System

Confirmed by Wikipedia EN and Chinese sources (萌娘百科, Wikipedia ZH), Phantom Blade Zero has 8 distinct endings, more than Elden Ring. Side quests explore the stories of other characters, and depending on their outcomes, the main story culminates in one of these endings.

⏳ 66-Day Timer: The 66-day countdown is not just a narrative device , it's mechanically significant. If the 66 days expire without completing the story, the game enters a bad ending (坏结局). Every choice, every alliance, every delay matters.

🌧Rainblood Spiritual Rebirth

Director Soulframe Liang has described Phantom Blade Zero as "the spiritual rebirth of the original Rainblood". It inherits the world of Rainblood: Town of Death (雨血1:死镇), including the 66-day countdown premise: but introduces a substantial amount of new content. The relationship is analogous to Dark Souls and Elden Ring: connected by spirit, but fully standalone.

A Dark Wuxia World

Step into a semi-open world of shadowy alliances, ancient martial arts, and a protagonist running out of time.

🌑

Story Premise

Soul, an elite assassin of The Order, has 66 days to live. Betrayed and poisoned, he must fight through a conspiracy that threatens the entire martial world.

🏯

Semi-Open World

Connected large levels spanning mountains, canyons, rivers, villages, temples, and manors. "Bell" rest points acts as respawn, teleport, and map-reveal stations.

🐉

Kungfupunk (武侠朋克)

S-GAME calls it "Kungfupunk", traditional Chinese martial arts fused with steampunk and cyberpunk elements. Dark, mysterious, with rain-swept atmospheres.
